Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1971).

I fell in love with Roald Dahl's book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" when I was about eight. I chose the book just because I was a ravenous chocolate-eater - my mum always had to hide all the chocolate bars just in case I ate them all at once. Although I got really scared when I first read the book as he illustrated this fascinating children's dreamland with rather satire words, I soon became more interested in his work.

This film with Gene Wilder perfectly show the way Dahl told the story on the book. Yep, I know the graphics are crappy and chocolate river looks rather a mucky swamp. But it does have the same feeling - it really adapted the book itself. You'll never guess how I was disappointed and feeling terrible when I saw Tim Burton's re-make some years ago. It was, in my opinion, a crap. All those fancy computer graphics and Johnny Depp with an weird accent just don't come together. Burton should've known better than that.

Anyway, this is my last image of ten which interests me a lot. I love the Boat Ride scene - the song he sings as well.

Later, Marilyn Manson made a song dedicated to the scene. It's my favourite song of them.
